Oh, the Hernandez Family. I had my first session with Cinthia & Waldo just over a year ago, and have had the pleasure of capturing several sessions for them since, including family photos (when they were just a family of 3), a milk bath maternity session, an in-home "Baking in the Kitchen" couples session, and now a family session with both of their adorable boys!
I do want to say how much I absolutely adore my return clients, as it is an incredible honor for me to be able to photograph families over the years as they grow. I truly enjoy developing a relationship with my clients and capturing all the incredible things that happen in their lives! So, when Cinthia messaged me ready to book their next family portrait session, I was beyond excited! This family is always up for something fun and adventurous, and likes to push me outside of my comfort zone. This time was no different! They asked if we could do their session at the Valley Mills Vineyard, which I was excited to do, as it was the first time I would visit (aside from when I did the Waco Wine Tour with my own family a few years back, but to be honest, I don't remember much of that excursion, if you know what I mean).
We set a date, but the kicker was it would need to be earlier than I normally like to do sessions. Generally I do my outdoor sessions during golden hour, either right at sunrise or sunset in order to get that perfect even lighting and the GLOW that I love. But, this is the Hernandez family (remember what I said about my comfort zone?) so I decided to roll with their idea! Boy am I glad I did.
We started this session with the family all together, some posed and then some more candid to capture their interaction. Big brother was NOT having it at the beginning, but after a little bit of music and the Cocomelon "Sneezing Song" he opened right up!
Neither of the boys were digging sitting or standing the grass, so once we captured the family pictures and a few sweet moments, we decided to send the boys with grandma and move on to couples pictures. We started on the balcony overlooking the vineyard (and of course, they enjoyed a glass of wine), then we moved back down into the vineyard to capture a few more intimate moments between them. If you can't tell from the pictures, they are always a dream to photograph, and their connection and love between them is so pure and honest. *insert heart eyes here*
Well, that's a wrap on the Hernandez Family! I am already looking forward to next time they are ready to push me out of my comfort zone. Until then...
XOXO,
Delaney
